To find your self you must first become self-aware. From there you are better able to discover and define what you feel your purpose is in life. Far too often we go about life with no real direction. That's not living. That's existing.
What is the one thing you have always wanted to do? The one thing that gets you so excited that you can hardly contain the excitement or passion. More than likely that is your purpose in life. Now, I am not talking about you becoming an exotic dancer or anything like that. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with wanting to do that. But, I am talking more along the lines of being a coach of some sort. Or maybe a rescue dog handler. Maybe going back to school to become a teacher.
In our self-discovery journey we become self-aware. We learn how to control our actions and reactions to outside stimuli. We learn to build healthy boundaries and healthy relationships.
We all have a true self, and it is our task to find out what that self is and act accordingly. Once we do, we can make choices about our lives and identities that are more consistent with who we really are.
Self-discovery coaching has many components, including an exploration of your past and present, a look at how you interact with others and what motivates you, and an examination of your goals and challenges.
Self-discovery coaches provide a vital service to clients by accompanying them on the journey toward authentic fulfillment. Self-discovery coaches challenge their clients, imbue them with courage, and show compassion.
To understand why self-discovery is so important, we must consider the consequences of failing to identify our true selves.
When we deny or distort our true selves, we lose touch with our deepest sense of happiness and fulfillment.
